Privacy

Privacy, in plain language

What this site measures, what it keeps, and who handles it. Last updated November 3, 2026.

No accounts, no ads

There are no user accounts, no logins and no advertising on this site. You can read every page without telling us anything about yourself.

Analytics

Two tools count how the site is used, so we can tell which guides are useful:

  • Google Analytics 4records page views and a few named events: clicks on links to other websites, use of a calculator or checklist on a guide, and a completed submit or contact form. Google sets cookies to do this. You can block it with your browser's privacy settings or an ad blocker, and the site works the same.
  • Vercel Analytics and Speed Insights, from the company that hosts the site, count page views and measure how fast pages load.

Calculators and checklists in guides run in your browser. Numbers you type into them are not sent anywhere. A checklist may remember your ticks in your own browser storage so they are still there when you come back.

Forms

The submit and contact forms are handled by Formspree, which receives what you type and passes it on to the editors by email. That includes your name and email address, so we can reply. We use them only to reply to you and to review your submission, and we do not add you to any mailing list.

What we keep

Form messages are kept for as long as they are needed to answer you and to review a submission. Analytics data is kept under each provider's standard settings.

Questions or deletion requests

To ask what we hold about you, or to have a form message deleted, use the contact page and choose "Something else".
