E-commerce marketing podcasts

Podcasts on e-commerce marketing and running an online store, for the hours when you cannot read, and how to find the ones with substance.

When you need this

  • You want to hear how other founders and marketers think through decisions.
  • You commute or work out and want the time to count.
  • You want practitioner conversation rather than polished articles.

What it costs, in general terms

Podcasts are almost always free to listen to. Some have paid extras or are made by agencies and tool vendors; the show's own page says so.

How to choose

  1. 01Pick an episode on a topic you know well and judge the depth. If it is right on that, trust it on the rest.
  2. 02Check who makes it and why. Vendor-made shows are fine for what they are, as long as you know.
  3. 03Prefer shows that name settings, numbers in bands and specific decisions over ones that talk about mindset.

Resources are described, never graded. The line between the two is on how we grade.

Frequently asked questions

Can I learn a channel from a podcast?

You can learn how practitioners think and which questions to ask. You cannot learn the screens and settings by ear, so pair a podcast with a course or documentation when you need to do the work.

How do I judge a podcast's guests?

Look up their current work. People who run accounts today give different advice from people who ran them years ago or who sell a tool.

Are agency podcasts biased?

They reflect how that agency works, which is useful if you want to understand them. Listen to more than one and notice where they disagree.
