E-commerce marketing newsletters

Newsletters that keep store owners and marketers current on Google, Meta, Amazon, email and the platforms, and how to pick a few you will actually read.

When you need this

  • Platforms change weekly and you want the changes that matter, explained once.
  • You brief an agency or freelancer and want to ask better questions.
  • You want practitioner opinions, not press releases.

What it costs, in general terms

Most newsletters are free and funded by their authors' other work; some have a paid tier with extra issues or resources. The price, if any, is on the newsletter's own page.

How to choose

  1. 01Read three back issues. If each one taught you something you could use, subscribe.
  2. 02Check who writes it and whether they still run accounts.
  3. 03Prefer a few newsletters you read fully to many you archive.

Resources are described, never graded. The line between the two is on how we grade.

Nothing published here yet

Guides go up one at a time, each with the date its facts were last checked. Nothing is listed until it is written.

Listed resources

No resources are listed here yet. Listings come from submissions that have been reviewed for fit; none are added without that, and each one shows the date its facts were last checked.

Frequently asked questions

How many newsletters should I follow?

A handful: one per channel you care about plus one general e-commerce read is plenty. More than that and the useful changes get buried.

How do I spot a newsletter that is really a sales funnel?

Issues that end in the same offer, little specific detail, and no screens or settings named. Good newsletters give the answer in the issue.

Are platform newsletters useful?

For product announcements, yes. For judgement about whether a change is good for your store, read practitioners who explain what the change does to real accounts.
