E-commerce marketing communities
Communities where store owners and e-commerce marketers compare notes: forums, chat groups and membership communities, and what to expect from each.
When you need this
- You run marketing alone and want people to sanity-check decisions with.
- You want to hear what other stores pay and get before you negotiate with an agency.
- A platform change broke something and you want to know whether it is just you.
What it costs, in general terms
Many communities are free; membership communities usually charge a monthly or yearly fee. Check what the fee covers, such as calls, resources or access to the organisers, and whether there is a trial.
How to choose
- 01Look at the last week of posts before joining. Active, specific threads with real answers beat a large member count.
- 02Check who moderates and how vendors and agencies are allowed to take part.
- 03Pick a community of stores like yours: size, platform and market matter more than topic.
Resources are described, never graded. The line between the two is on how we grade.

Frequently asked questions
Free or paid community?
Free communities are wide and noisy, with good answers mixed with sales pitches. Membership communities tend to be smaller and more candid, because members have something in common. Try the free ones first and pay when you know what you want.
How do I get value from a community?
Ask specific questions with your numbers framed in bands, answer others where you can, and check any advice against your own data before acting on it.
Are vendor-run communities worth joining?
They are good for product questions and roadmap news, and weak for comparing the vendor with alternatives. Treat them as support channels, not neutral ground.
